HISTORY OF 180MINISTRIES &
TEENCHALLENGE

180MINISTRIES is an outreach organization dedicated to helping individuals overcome addiction, rediscover hope, and achieve lasting personal transformation. As a program of Teen Challenge of the Rocky Mountains, 180 Ministries builds on a long-standing legacy of restoration and life change that has impacted individuals and families for decades. Through a comprehensive approach, the organization combines mentorship, supportive community, and practical life-skills training to address the physical, emotional, and behavioral aspects of recovery. This holistic model equips men, women, and families with the tools they need to break free from addiction, rebuild healthy relationships, and move forward with a renewed sense of purpose and self-worth.

Programs at 180MINISTRIES are designed to meet people where they are, offering structured support in a safe and encouraging environment. Participants engage in personalized mentoring, group support, educational opportunities, and skill-building activities that foster responsibility, resilience, and long-term stability. By focusing on both immediate recovery needs and long-term personal development, the organization helps individuals not only overcome substance dependence but also build a strong foundation for a sustainable and fulfilling future.

Teen Challenge, the parent organization of 180MINISTRIES, was founded by David Wilkerson in New York City with a mission to reach young people caught in cycles of gang involvement and substance abuse. What began as a grassroots effort has grown into an international network of programs serving thousands of individuals facing addiction, poverty, and life-controlling challenges. Over the years, Teen Challenge has developed a structured, experience-based recovery model that emphasizes accountability, community support, and personal growth.

As part of this broader network, 180MINISTRIES brings a time-tested approach and a deep commitment to compassionate care to communities throughout Colorado. By combining proven recovery strategies with strong mentorship and community engagement, the organization continues to help individuals rebuild their lives, strengthen their families, and create meaningful, lasting change.

The 180MINISTRIES is a residential program dedicated to helping men, women and children overcome addiction and rebuild their lives. Residents live on-site, creating a structured environment that fosters accountability, personal growth, and long-term sobriety. The program focuses on teaching participants practical skills for living a sober life, emphasizing responsibility, healthy routines, and making positive choices in daily life. This supportive residential setting allows men to fully immerse themselves in their recovery journey, surrounded by peers who share similar goals and challenges. The center’s curriculum is a key part of the recovery process, combining educational classes, structured meetings, and both individual and group counseling sessions.

Residents engage in a variety of learning opportunities designed to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of addiction. Through group discussions and personal counseling, students gain tools to manage triggers, develop coping strategies, and strengthen relationships. By integrating these structured programs with hands-on support, the 180MINISTRIES provides a comprehensive path toward lasting recovery and a renewed sense of purpose.

Branches in Denver and Olathe Colorado.

“Teen Challenge was born out of those humble early days of ministry. It now includes over 500 drug and alcohol rehab centers around the world. These include homes for girls and women addicts and alcoholics, all which are reaching many.”

Rev. David Wilkerson, Founder of Teen Challenge

Marcus

Graduate of 180MINISTRIES

My name is Marcus, and a few years ago, I was a construction contractor in Denver when a serious back injury on the job changed everything. My doctor prescribed OxyContin and Percocet to manage the pain, and while they initially helped, I quickly became dependent and addicted, losing control of my work, my relationships, and my sense of self. My wife was worried and heartbroken, and I knew I needed help, which is when I found 180 Ministries Men’s Center. Through their supportive programs, counseling, and daily accountability, I learned to confront my addiction, rebuild my life, and regain purpose. Today, I am completely sober, back to running a successful contracting business, fully present for my family, and my wife couldn’t be happier with the man I’ve become.

Zara

Student at 180MINISTRIES

My name is Zara, and I’m 20. While working long shifts as a waitress, I was constantly surrounded by a fast-paced environment where cocaine use was common, and over time, I got pulled into it. What started as a way to keep up with the pressure and energy of the restaurant quickly turned into a dependency that began to take control of my life. I knew I needed help, so I made the decision to join 180 Ministries Women’s Center. These past few months haven’t been easy, but they’ve truly been life-changing.

I’m learning how to manage cravings, build healthy routines, and rediscover who I am beyond addiction. Each day, I feel stronger, more focused, and more hopeful about my future. With the support, structure, and community here, I finally feel like I’m on a real path toward lasting recovery. If you’re struggling like I was, don’t wait—take that first step and reach out for help. It can change everything.

Graduate of 180MINISTRIES

My name is Adrian, and even as a successful owner of multiple golf courses, I reached a point where addiction was taking over my life. I came from Baltimore to join 180 Ministries Men’s Center in Denver because I knew I needed a fresh start. The experience has been transformative—the staff and community welcomed me with compassion, accountability, and encouragement. For the first time in years, I feel fully in control of my life, rebuilding relationships, strengthening my daily habits, and facing each day with purpose and confidence. If you’re ready to make real change, I encourage you to take that first step toward recovery—you don’t have to do it alone.

“What does real change look like? Sometimes it starts with a simple but powerful decision—to become the woman your family needs you to be.”
