180MINISTRIES is an outreach organization dedicated to helping individuals overcome addiction, rediscover hope, and achieve lasting personal transformation. As a program of Teen Challenge of the Rocky Mountains, 180MINISTRIES builds on a long-standing legacy of restoration and life change that has impacted individuals and families for decades. Through a comprehensive approach, the organization combines mentorship, supportive community, and practical life-skills training to address the physical, emotional, and behavioral aspects of recovery. This holistic model equips men, women, and families with the tools they need to break free from addiction, rebuild healthy relationships, and move forward with a renewed sense of purpose and self-worth.
Programs at 180MINISTRIES are designed to meet people where they are, offering structured support in a safe and encouraging environment. Participants engage in personalized mentoring, group support, educational opportunities, and skill-building activities that foster responsibility, resilience, and long-term stability. By focusing on both immediate recovery needs and long-term personal development, the organization helps individuals not only overcome substance dependence but also build a strong foundation for a sustainable and fulfilling future.
Teen Challenge, the parent organization of 180MINISTRIES, was founded by David Wilkerson in New York City with a mission to reach young people caught in cycles of gang involvement and substance abuse. What began as a grassroots effort has grown into an international network of programs serving thousands of individuals facing addiction, poverty, and life-controlling challenges. Over the years, Teen Challenge has developed a structured, experience-based recovery model that emphasizes accountability, community support, and personal growth.

MY TESTIMONY: SEAN
Since arriving at 180 Ministries five and a half months ago, Sean has experienced major changes in his mindset, behavior, and overall health. Before entering the program, he struggled with depression, anxiety, low confidence, and poor decision-making, leaving him exhausted and hopeless. Through classes, counseling, and hands-on work, Sean has rebuilt healthy thinking patterns and gained practical tools to support his recovery journey.
One of the biggest changes for Sean has been finding renewed purpose and hope for the future. He has learned how to manage stress, work through uncertainty, and stay focused on becoming the best version of himself. Today, Sean feels more confident and optimistic about life, recovery, and being a strong, healthy father for his two young boys.
MY TESTIMONY: SHASTA
Shasta came into the program alone and questioning a God who would allow the abuse, death, and the destruction that she had experienced life to be. Married nine years, with three children, she had fallen into addiction and lost everything. Her husband was in jail, her oldest son had been adopted and she was about to lose her two youngest boys for adoption.
Shasta was broken. It took a desperate leap of faith to get her through our front doors. It has been eight months. Shasta began a walk with her Redeemer. She chose to give her heart and life to Him and He brought her youngest sons home to her and began a tender healing journey in the whole family. Her husband who is now serving time at a halfway house is seeing the transformation in his wife and is hungry for the new life and hope he sees in her.
MY TESTIMONY: MATTHEW
Matthew entered the program in September 2022 homeless, broken, and desperate for change. Before coming to 180 Ministries, he was living on the streets of Denver battling methamphetamine and alcohol addiction while praying for a second chance at life. His determination was clear from the start—he showed up on a Saturday morning without an intake date, begging to be admitted into the program. From the moment he arrived, Matthew committed himself to scripture and placed his trust in Jesus as the foundation for his new life.
During the program, Matthew faced difficult challenges, including ongoing epilepsy that had fueled his alcohol abuse for years. He suffered multiple seizures and was rushed to the hospital several times, but through it all he learned to trust God and persevere through uncomfortable circumstances. Since graduating, Matthew has found success with a career selling insurance, stays active in his church community, and continues pursuing treatment to reduce his seizures. His story is a powerful example of God’s faithfulness and what can happen when someone fully commits to transformation.
